Walking

WalkingAlmost every city on island has own walking routes and promenades. Here we introduce most interesting routes.

OMISALJ - Park Dubec
Situated between city walls and sea. There are almost 1 km of walking paths. Making of this park started in 1930s, today there are nice walking paths with lots of benches.

NJIVICE - Promenade Antun Kosta
At the end of city beaches starts this promenade and after 1,2 Km ends in local bay called Kijac.

MALINSKA - Promenade Rajska Cesta
This path starts in Malinska and after few kilometers ends in Njivice. Path is also suitable for cycling.

KRK - Prniba
The Prniba peninsula is situated southeast of Krk town. Just follow the road from Krk to Punat. After few kilometers from Krk will be sign for Camp Politin, follow the sign and there are paths. Total lenght of paths is 7,5 km.

BASKA - Tourist Tracks
14 marked tourist tracks with a total length of 60 km, suitable for an easy walk, leading to unforgettable viewpoints, with views of the sea, numerous bays, Stara Baška and St. Lucy's Church (Baš?anska plo?a)

PUNAT  - Shepherds' tracks
The tracks extend along stone walls, through gardens and vineyards and up to shepherds' huts, and, in addition to flocks of sheep, walkers can encounter roe deer, hares, foxes and many bird species. It takes between 30 minutes and 1 hour to climb to the peaks of 250 to 350 metres and one to two hours to higher peaks (350 – 500 m). A view of the whole island of Krk as well as of Kvarner's islands and the coast extends from the peaks.

DOBRINJ - Through the Dobrinjština tracks
A track some twenty kilometres long, with eight checkpoints, passes through an area characterized by a varied plant community, picturesque villages (Šilo, Cestilac, Gostinjac, Sv. Vid, Dobrinj, Gornja Hlapa, and Županja), and typical examples of island architecture and culture.
