When envisioning a holiday with my family many thoughts come to my mind. The location you choose may be due to the time of year you are able to go, or you may want a certain location and need to decide what time of the year would be best for you to go there. Some people want to be on a beach when the temperatures are blazing hot with the sun kissing every part of your body. Some people may prefer to have on a light sweater with a warm breeze blowing through their
hair while walking the coastline.
One of the most popular European vacation destinations has become the Croatian Islands – the Krk island of Croatia being the most popular of them all. Aside from the numerous endless beaches found on the island, there are many other activities to do. A popular activity people like is to go hiking on the many different hiking trails. If hiking is just a small portion of the things you would like to do, then hiking the route Bay Vela Draga is highly recommended. This is a short hike with twisty paths, wonderful views, and passes by a popular beach with extremely clear water.
On the other hand, if you are looking for a very adventurous holiday with lots of activity, than Baska may be the city you prefer to stay. It has more than 90 kilometers of marked hiking trails hidden among the mountain slopes. The trails consist of breathtaking views of the Velebit, the island Prvic with its lighthouse, and many more historical sights. The island is home to ancient ruins, old castles and churches. Or maybe a Zip-line adventure is more up to your speed! There are spots that you can also rent four wheelers or go on a jeep safari with the family.
The island of Krk, Croatia offers a fairly mild climate. Most of the activities you would like to endeavor could be done at most times through the year. The average temperatures can range from high 40’s in the winter with an average of 55 degrees Fahrenheit to 85-90 degrees during the summer months. Although there is enough of a variance that in December you will not be bathing in your bikini on the beach. You may want to plan to come between May and September to be able to do that. I personally would probably more prefer to do an October through December time frame as I am not a fan of the scorching sun. Laying on the beach, in a lounge chair, with a sweater on, and barefoot with capris would be ideal in my eyes. The children could still be playing near the water’s edge making sand castles, while I enjoy a book and the warm breeze. I also love to go hiking, and I also prefer a much cooler climate for that also.
As you can see, depending on your climate preference, you may find the island to be more beneficial to your holiday planning at different times throughout the year. Although, a trip to the Krk at any time during the year will be utterly amazing and beautiful to any eye. There are activities to suit all types of requests, including accommodating to the young children with many things for them to do also.
